The impact of COVID-19 on street homelessness

We begin our work in the housing policy topic area with a thorough investigation into the impacts of COVID-19 on street homelessness in the UK. How should people living on the streets of big cities be helped through the crisis, and how can short-term initiatives introduced at the height of the pandemic be translated into long-term meaningful policy shifts? We are currently compiling evidence on the most successful policy responses and initiatives around the world with regard to this issue, and will feed our findings into a virtual roundtable discussion entitled What is working on street homelessness policy? at 1pm on Monday 22 February. If you are working in this area and would like to join the roundtable, please email policyimpactunit@ucl.ac.uk.
